There is a very reasonably priced brand new one at a local gun store. Thank you. SonnyD 03-08-2006, 22:28 While I don't own one, the 40B is one of my favorites, and if they had made a 9P I would own one. It's one of the better deals going if you can find one. From the reports I hear, the the 40B's have better triggers then 40P's and of course they have a manual safety instead of a decocker. They are discontinued as are the 40P's. Not sure what you mean by reasonably priced, but you shouldn't pay more then about 310.00 for one. I've heard of people recently finding them pretty cheaply and CDNN had them for sale a while back for 259.00. That's about all I can say about them. Regards Sonny 12 Volt Man 03-08-2006, 23:18 +1 good advice. I had a 40P. I regret selling it. I will own another one at some point. terrier 03-09-2006, 21:21 SonnyD, the asking price is $320.00; but it has been sitting on the shelf for a while. I might be able to get it for about $300.00. Thanks SonnyD and 12VoltMan. srfl 03-09-2006, 21:35 I managed to find one just a few bucks more than CDNN was selling them for. I really like the gun....I love the grip angle. It's accurate and it handles the .40 with no problem. I don't like the safety; it's a little to short for me...it needs to be a tad longer as I carry my 40B cocked and locked. The rear sight notch is also too shallow. I may take it to a gunsmith to have the notch widened and to get a tritium front sight or have the OEM sight drilled for an insert. I wish the OEM mags were more than 10 rounds in capacity, but I think most 40B owner do what I did; purchase CZ 12-round magazines and swap the 40B floorplates for the 12-magazine floorplates. Now I have mags that look OEM (due to the floorplates) but are now 12 rounds in capacity. seamus 03-20-2006, 17:07 I'm sorry I sold mine, it was very fun to shoot, just an odd size for me plus my compact 40 and my model 23 made it a safe queen. You should get it. BTW I have a High Noon need for speed holster made for a 40b should anyone be interested. cpirtle 03-21-2006, 08:40 A few months back I decided I needed to add a CZ pistol since I was so fond of my CZ Rifles. The 75 was just not comfortable in my hand due to the length of the first DA trigger pull. I learned a long time ago that if a gun is not a good fit in all modes of fire I will not be happy with it, so I ruled it out. Then I found a 40b at a show and with the 1911 style frame it was an excellent fit. I paid $319 for mine, and have since seen several all priced at or above that mark. What a gun was going for 6 months ago is not necessarily what they are going for today, so I don't think it's a fair comparison. Naturally as the market dries up on them prices would tend to go up. So I think $320 is a fair price. When they do show up on Gunbroker they are usually priced in the $320-$350 range. Mine is amazingly accurate as I've come to expect from CZ. Trigger pull is a little gritty but wearing in nicely the more I shoot it. Mine would occasionally fail to go into battery so I put a cut down Wolff spring in from a 75 and it is functioning at 100% now. I also picked up a couple of 12 round mag's for it. Get one, for the money it's hard to go wrong. Old Coastie 03-21-2006, 20:39 Sonny, It seems CZUB has made another run of 40B's. I purchased two this past year, and both were dated 05. They were both in the price ranges quoted here. Don't know why I got the second one, I just wanted it. I have the sickness. SRFL, Why not just buy a set of night sights from CZ-USA. They have them specifically for the 40B. Not a bad price either. I believe they will also sell the baseplates for the 40B mags. I agree with everything said. It is quickly becoming my favorite pistol. As soon as my name comes up on his waiting list my #1 40B will be sent off to Jim Miossi for an action job with new sear and hammer. I suspect it is going to replace my CZ100 as my carry piece. If anyone has a line on a set of thin grips I would be very appreciative. Good shooting, Mike Berto 03-26-2006, 11:50 THe 40B is actually a pretty soft shooting .40 IMO,and really good handling/ergos. http://shutter03.pictures.aol.com/data/pictures/04/005/7F/FD/33/3B/3ZRyoVga0ktguEzZwAyG6EpUbrdIuzVq0280.jpg vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
