View Full Version : HK won me back: P7M8 to G19 to P2000SK

I carried a P7M8 for 10 years. I decided to upgrade and bought a G19. First days at the range I could not hit a thing. After a thousand rounds I am able to hit center mass and now with 2000 rounds and a lot of concentration I am able to hit 10X. All this done at 25 feet. I took the HK P2000SK out for the first time and hit center mass every time. With a little effort I can put them all in the 10X. The pistol has almost no recoil. HK did a wonderful job on controlling the recoil. I have small hands and the small grip insert fits perfect. Now I am stuck with my G19 that I don't shoot anymore.

I am just now falling in love w/ HK. I have a new USP 9mm, and may buy a compact USP soon. I can't wait for them to come out with the P3000 (now the P30)

From what I hear the P3000 will not be sold in the United States. I wish it was more than you can imagine. I currently love my P2000 and P2000sk but would love a Full Size P2000 (I hope they call it the P2000FS) so that they can continue the P2000 name on all sides. I imagine they will import the P3000 after people complain enough.
AS I don't follow all H&K products close.... I am not sure and make pure assumtions
I stated that in another post.... the pcitures I seen of the P30(p3000) were in a H&K case and some just on the display, that had the J&S ( stands for hunting and sporting in German)on it, making me belive that there is a strong chance for it to make it to the US,,,,specially wiht some of their bigger models not being imported anymore
I think and again that is just my 2 cents.... that the P30 name change came to go along with the long awaited H&K 45...
Though it might be also that H&K is trying to get more of the upcoming German Police contracts.... since the P2000 is not a full size gun really....
for best info on the H&K ... go to Hkpro forum... some Germans there that have insight with the company itself I belive

Well, someone on HK Pro gave the dimensions of the P30 - it STILL has a sub 4" barrel. They only made it a tiny bit longer - like 9mm or something.
Wait till it's out.... Remeber how the P2000Sk had such a "short" (2.48 inches I belive it was) barrel,,,
Well it took H&K forever to change the measuring (or at least the info they displayed) from that to where the chamber is included like on every other of their guns... and now all of a sudden the P2000Sk has a close to 3.5 (3.27) inch barrel too
So I would not be surprised if that measurement is not correct... just MHO.. but that thing looks a loot longer to me than the P2000
and the P2000 barrel is 3.62
but my eys could be playing tricks with me

I have a new HK catalog and it still says the barrel is 2.48 inches.
Is the compact USP barrel right in their measurements?
Look at it on the H&K website
I was like wtf, a barrel that is 2.5 inches and the overall gun is the size of the P99c
What happened is, they measured the barrel without the chamber.... were all the other ones measure with the chamber
I don't know about the USP.... I never even held a USP
but you can just measure yours.... the wesite lists it at 4.25 for the fullsize

I meant to say the compact USP - if they don't measure that area of the barrel, then it may come out to be about 4 inches.
I'll look at my full size USP when I get home and check the measurement

I measures the USP last night - the measurements are about right. So, I guess they only shortchanged that 1 gun on the measurements.
I don't think the 2.48" barrel length measurement is right. I have a Glock 27 and its measured at 3.46". You can see they are almost identical.

Yea the 2.48 inches on the P2000SK was not right
and H&K has taken it's sweet time to fix that on their webpage....
it now shows like said above 3.27 inches
So anyhow... what I thought was that if the P2000 barrel is 3.6 inches.. the P30 should be over 4 inches...
but again the damn thing is getting changed and changed...so let's just wait and see what happens
I know for sure that there is a P2000 or P2000Sk with my name on it out there... as there is some more guns that await my pickup...
now if only the funds would flow faster ;f

Well, with the Walther compact, I don't need something the size of the P2000. I do, however, like the cocked and locked ability of the USP, and the USP compact has the grip I wish the full size USP had - it's not quite so huge and boxy.
I think I will buy a compact model, since I like my USP so much. Nothing else really has caught my attention lately.
Everyone keeps telling me to get a CZ - I have never fired one, but have held a few, and I really don't like the way they look, or the quality.
