Well, I just traded my Yugo SKS 59/66 for a Romanian (WASR-10). The SKS really disappointed me. I look forward to firing the WASR. I hope that it shoots as well as my Yugo M70AB2. The shop where I made the trade has really treated me well in the last couple of years. The WASR that I got was traded in by a young guy last Friday for a SKS. I was there having a new single-point sling adapter installed on my AR. I could not believe that this guy was trading. I was just glad to hear that they still had the WASR on the wall when I called yesterday. The WASR is all clean and ready to go. I also just received two Yugo mage from CenterFire Systems. The were in excellent condition as they said. I like the Yugo mags for th fact that they do hold the bolt open after the last round. Enough said. ;f

So one guy trades his WASR in for a SKS, you trade your SKS in for a WASR. The middle man (dealer) must be laughing all the way to the bank.
Why were you dissapointed with your SKS? Accuracy or reliability issues? Because you may have similar issues with that WASR. Think for a moment why the guy traded in his WASR for an SKS... both of you seem to think the grass is greener on the other side. :)
But hopefully you enjoy your gun!

The guy that traded in the WASR said he fired it one time and decided he wanted something different. He wanted something with less recoil than an AK. As far as my SKS is concerned, I preferred that action of the AK than that of the SKS. I traded the SKS, of which I paid $99.95, and paid $180.00 to boot. The way I look at it, I got the WASR for $280.00. ;f

WASRs can occasionally have a few minor problems but they core of the weapon is "good stuff".
Good trade!
Think about it from the dealer's perspective...
Guy trades WASR for SKS. Straight trade, I assume. Then guy trades SKS + $180 for WASR.
Dealer starts off with SKS.
Dealer ends up with SKS + $180.
Now that's what I call buisness.

I realized that scenario as I pondered the trade. I did some research into the WASR-10 and read some forum threads about the WASR. I considered all of the aspects and made my decision. Now, all being said and done, I am satisfied and the dealer is satisfied. Rapore is paramount in this case. They know as long as they treat a good customer right, they will have a loyal customer. The important thing is getting the customer what they want. Not every dealer will do what they do. I got what I was after and was pleased with the deal. Nobody walked away a loser. It is a pleasure doing business with them. ;f
$280 for an almost-new WASR10 is a fair deal. If it's the military version with the muzzle break, they are selling for between $319-359 new. The non-military version with the welded muzzle nut (which you can remove if legal where you live) goes for around $280.
