Just wondering what everyone keeps in their 12gauge for self defense/home defense purpose.
Six rounds of Federal "tactical" #4 buck in the magazine.
Six rounds of Hornday TAP-FPD 00 buck in the side saddle.
Four rounds of PMC rifled slugs in the stock (Speedfeed III).
It's my "escalation of aggression" load out. ;f
7 rounds of Hornady TAP 00 Buck low recoil
Hornady TAP 00 Buck, the kind that says is for autos. not sure if that is "low recoil" or not, but I only have autos so I need this.

6 rounds of TAP 00 Buck in the Magazine and 6 on the sidesaddle.
I keep 8 rounds of Federal 00 Buck in the magazine and 4 Federal rifled slugs in a speedfeed stock.
I keep 25 rounds of Federal 3" 00 Buck and 5 rounds of Rottweil slug with my Benelli M4. I keep it stoked with the 00 Buck and keep the slugs handy for emergencies.

6 shots of Remington Police 00 Buck, 6 Remington Slugs in the sidesaddle.
Just in case I need to blow the hinges off my own door:cool:
Winchester 00 buck low-recoil.
I've got another brand (Remington) in the mail and hopefully it will pattern better.

I guess I am the only one who uses Wolf 00 Buck.Oh well, more for me.So far I estimate I have around 1100 in my cases.
Loaded with nothing but Remington Copper Solid sabot slugs and a 20" fully rifled barrel.
870 Fiocchi Low Recoil 1oz slugs in the tube & side saddle. 18.5" smoothbore w/Tritium Ghostring sights & Surefire forend.

Mossberg 500 w/ 2 3/4 Sellier & Bellot 00 Buck.
3 Sellier & Bellot 00 Buck,+1 steel #8(plus box in night stand) in the side saddle...my 70's era wing master police gun will hold 5 S@B's in the mag but i've found them unreliable! my glock and #8's will see my through another day.
00 buck but am concerned about interior/exterior wall penetration..thinking of switching to birdshot...
You'd be better off sticking with 00 or slugs - birdshot is really going to open up at much past 7 yards and the pellets will still penetrate wallboard.
You still have to aim your shotgun, it isn't just point & shoot (Hollywood has lied to us all these years...).

Slugs and 00 Buck. That is really the only reasonable choice for SD application.
