View Full Version : New G27 - Trigger Problems

I got a new 27 yesterday. The stock trigger was smooth but stiff. I put in a new Glock 3.5 lb connector, which lightened the pull, but it's REALLY scratchy now. The connector surfaces seem smooth.
Any ideas?

The angle of the Glock 3.5lbs trigger often causes a longer mushier feeling trigger pull(longer release). The 8lbs trigger often has a "sharper" feel because it's angle is the other way making the pull shorter or rather the release shorter.

if you have another Glock to swap triggers you can swap more than one part too. There have been a few different designs of internal parts.

This one doesn't just have a longer pull, it's scratchy. Maybe I should buy another trigger bar...
Good idea about changing parts. I have a 35 that I could do some temporary swapping with. That would at least eliminate the striker and the striker button from the equation.

Steve,
Look at the cruciform sear and the arm of the striker under magnification. The cruciform sear engagement area has been VERY rough on the ones I've seen lately. If so stone the areas smooth and use Tetra grease on them.
Also most don't realize how important the striker spring is in getting a good trigger pull. I use a cut down OEM spring and have lightened the striker. I have a honest 2# trigger on my G17 and have no trouble lighting off CCI primers.

Thanks Duck. I'll check out the trigger bar/striker engagement tonight.

If it was OK before you changed the connector, then I would look at the connector. I suspect what you might find is that if you look at the angled, bent-over edge of the connector, right below the little tab with the "-" sign, the edge is rough and needs to be polished a little (like it was cut and the edge wasn't polished). When you pull the trigger, it is rubbing against a rough edge and making it rough.

If you look at the bottom row of conn3ectors in the picture, I am talking about the 120/90/60 degree edge that is turned toward you in the bottom row and away from you in the upper row.

Bren,
The link doesn't work for me, but I think... I know which edge your talking about. I'll give it a close look.
Thanks,

Well, I put the trigger bar & group from my G35 into the 27 and the trigger pull was just dandy.
I polished the trigger bar and connector mating surfaces on the 27, but only marginal improvement. I may buy a new trigger bar for the 27 and see if that helps.
When I pull the trigger on the 27 with the 3.5 connector, the force rises, then falls, then rises slightly again before the trigger breaks. This is really annoying. Why would it fall?
Thanks again,
Koski
