Some years ago, a friend of mine said buckshot or slugs wouldnt penetrate a car door because they are soft unjacketed projectiles.
He said they would splat against the door exterior.
He needs to see this video.
Buckshot goes clean through the door.

Car doors don't stop much. Every major service caliber handgun and greater should reliably penetrate unless it hits a reenforcing bracket or hinge.
