JP magwell IDPA legal (G35)?

I have a "Version 2" JP magwell installed on my 35. Does anyone know if it will fit in the IDPA box? The width of the magwell is right at 1 5/8". If laying on it's side it is the max height/thickness allowed to fit the box.

this is the first generation JPMW , see attached . Should be about the same dimension as your new one.

Thanks. It's a Warren/Sevigny competition rear. It came as a set front and rear. I ditched the front and kept my Dawson on there. The notch width is wider than the Heinie. Getting on target is much faster now. The Heinies were good.. This IMO is better. :cool:

as for the original question it isnt legal for ssp.esp if you wanted to shoot in that class if it indeed fits in the box.

Correct. It will be use in ESP.

What is the difference in version 1 and 2?

I think it's the way it attaches to the gun. I'm not really sure. My magwell didn't have a screw to attach through the hole in the backstrap. Mine connected from the bottom using a plug.

Without seeing the bottom, it looks larger and more contoured especially at the front than the original one have.

I love the pics and looks of the JPMW. I've got a G35 I'm currently using with pre-ban 15 rounders with +2 extensions. Shouldn't be a problem getting below the MW with those but do you need base pad extensions for the stock length mags?

Nope. The JP magwell is made to be used with the stock base plate.

Well must be over doulbe the usable entrance/opening of the JP I have? It is only 1 7/16" x 2 5/8" max outside dim. Well opening is only: 1 5/32" x 13/16". Heigh is: 1/2"

Much nicer/smoother contouring outside and sight out of mind better flare of well especially at front and rear of mag! {The flare on mine is straight and very steep, yours looks "cupped" or "dished"?}

Magwell dimensions that I measured..

Outside diameter:
Front to back of well- 2 3/4"
Left to right- 1 5/8"

Well opening where it flares:
Front to back- 2"
Left to right- 1 1/2"

Overall height- 5/8"
