Thanks-Bill The Sarge, Haven't shot mine very much. Appears to be a good pistol as it's based off Colts old now discontinued pistol. Want a "target" version for slow fire. Mail Clerk ndbullet500 04-04-2006, 15:35 I have one that I have shot thousands of rounds through. I like it, but don't love it. It is reasonably accurate, has been reliable with the exception of being picky with ammo during the first couple hundred rounds. PRO: Easy to make "your" Neos. Grips change guickly. Barrel length is changable in 30 seconds. Pretty accurate. Looks neat. Feels good (personal preference). Not that expensive. Nice reliable stainless steel mags. It's a .22. Very adjustable sights. CON: Not REALLY accurate with 4.5" barrel. Fit not where I would like to see it from Beretta. Lots of gaps between parts. Sights are not great for fine detail work. The front blade is too fat, in my opinion. Trigger is too heavy (but crisp on mine). Overall, I'm glad I got it, but not thrilled that I did, if that makes sense. If I had it to do over, I might still get a Neos, but I would consider a Ruger Mk. II or III as well. I would take the Neos over the Walther P22 or the Sig Mosquito. GixxerSixxer 04-23-2006, 13:36 Easy to break down and clean. Grips change out easy too. You can easily mount a red dot or other optics on the top of it. With Standard velocity ammo the gun has very little muzzle jump. My buddies gun has eaten everything we've fed it: Eley Tenex, SK Standard, SK Match, CCI Standard Velocity, CCI Pistol Match, CCI Green Tag, Temp Free Pistol, Remington High Velocity, Federal Gold Medal Match, Aguila sub-sonic, and T22. It's a good plinker but I wouldn't use it for competition. The trigger is incredibly heavy IMO. I'm spoiled when it comes to triggers though. All my triggers are 5.5 lbs or less. Most of my triggers are 2-stage as well. catsize 05-15-2006, 09:23 I've had two NEOS .22's and like them a lot. The first one I had, which was one of the first off the production line (I was an "early adopter"), had a problem with the pins under the sight rail working their way loose. No big deal, but inconvenient as it required me to spend time resetting them and then resetting the sights fairly regularly. The second, which I currently own, is a recent (Feb 05) NEOS DLX with a six-inch barrel. I have mounted a red-dot sight on this gun and it has been absolutely reliable and a lot of fun to shoot. I highly recommend the NEOS for casual target shooting and plinking. It looks cool, functions well, is reasonably accurate (not for competition, but fine for practice and fun), and is very easy to clean and maintain. For the money, I don't think there is a better value on the market. I found the 4.5" barrel on my first NEOS fairly accurate (2" - 3" groups at 50', off-hand); but, for obvious reasons, the six inch barrel is more accurate. The NEOS is a great gun. Again, for the price, you can't go wrong. And, if Beretta ever gets around to offering the carbine kit that's been listed on their Web site for the last two or three years, you'll be able to convert it into a .22 rifle! If you want to have fun at the range, the NEOS is perfect. For cometitive target shooting, a Browning or Colt might be more appropriate. But, for sheer fun, it's hard to beat the NEOS. Hope it helps! ffcracker 05-18-2006, 14:35 Very easy to shoot and I like the way it feels in my large hands. I wanted to get a Walther P22 Because of they way it looks but it was just to small for me. Well worth the money. blueline615 05-21-2006, 20:07 I bought one of the early production models and put several thousand rounds through it. It has its ups and downs but overall I like it and would recomend you to pick one up. Shop around i found them in price ranged from $260-380 in the Nashville area. Pro: VERY light recoil Fairly accurate even at great distances(indoor range shot only) Mags are SUPER easy to load .22 is very inexpensive comfortable grips nice look to it Adjustable tigger pull strength on my model fun to shoot Cons: Had a few FTE's when speed shooting with it Did not care much for the factory sites. blueline615 05-21-2006, 20:08 PS Look into the Walther P-22 if the Neos is not your fancy. A friend was looking at one with a threaded barrel for a supressor. 4eyes 05-21-2006, 20:17 I bought an early one and was impressed with it's ability to function any and all junk, bulk, cheap ammo. Horrible trigger and I didn't like the grip angle or the small diameter grips. Mine was accurate as long as I could hold it through the trigger pull. I traded it for a Ruger 22/45 and like the Ruger much better. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
