I’m just starting out in comp shooting and would like to try both IDPA and IPSC. I have a Glock M22 and a strong left hand. I need some advice on carry gear. Can someone recommend a belt, holster and mag pouch of good quality that wont break the bank? I’m hoping to get all three for under $150. Thank you for your help.

Belt:

Holster & mag carriers:
www.blade-tech.com
The injection molded holster ($15) and double mag carriers are the best bargain going, and they're as good as most of the custom formed Kydex on the market.
For good but cheap gear look at this setup for $75
$40 http://www.blade-tech.com/product.php?productid=897&cat=259&page=1
$35 http://thewilderness.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/3/products_id/36?osCsid=5c3d0d3feb74676d44f14a0d194b22c1
I had this spiffy response all typed out then I see you are a lefty :frown:
That eliminates the cheap Blade-Tech combo and makes the G-Code / Wilderness combo look pretty good!

Thanks for all your advise people. :)
I like the Blade-Tech kydex holsters. I wear a Wilderness 1 3/4 combat shooters model belt. The Blade-Tech injection molded package is a good deal but as already stated, it isn't available for left handed shooters.
Comp-Tac also gets good reviews and will put your gear in your hands pretty fast.
Make sure your belt is the same width as the loops on your holster.

gsbelle has it right. Get the blade tech combo and get the wilderness instructors belt.
you can get them pretty cheap, and i think blade tech is the best OWB holster maker out there by far.
and wilderness belts are the best also by far.

since you specifically said carry gear.....
Belt: Wilderness .
Holster and Mag pouch: Since you are a southpaw, the Bladetech IM stuff is out . It's only made for right handers (but you could always switch).
Comptac should be able to outfit you with both holster & magpouches with a fast turnaround.

The Safariland 860 is a great rig. It is smooth and fast on the draw and has suede lining that protects the gun very well.
I use it with the Wilderness belt and Bladetech or Preditor mag carriers.

Your best option is to contact Comp-tac and see if they can get a holster to you - they might be able to still overnight one so you have it Saturday. However, the shipping might be hefty. They will ship faster than blade-tech or ready tactical.
If you want to keep costs down and you can't find the blade-tech IM, look for the Uncle Mike's Paddle holster or the Fobus Regular paddle holster. Both are IDPA legal. (Caution, the Fobus roto paddle and the Uncle Mike's belt holster are not IDPA legal.)
Wilderness belt and Comp-Tac or Sidearmor holster and mag carriers. I use these in IDPA, USPSA limited and 3-gun. Sturdy, fast and durable. I've used almost all of the rest and these work best for me. A full riug for under $150 is a piece of cake.
