Apparently Izsmash the new owner of Molot is coming out with a Saiga 12 model except that it is being made at the Molot plant and will be called the Vepr-12. It looks to be a higher quality version of Izsmash's other shotgun the Saiga-12.

I can feel it demanding that I make a preorder as soon as I find out who will be imoporting them :D
I have missed my Saiga 12 since I sold it but I got sick of the $100 magazines and needed the money for other projects.
I think I'll have to bite the bullet and get one of these.

I GUESS THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO MOVE TO RUSSIA BECAUSE THE ATF WOULD NEVER ALLOW THAT GUN INTO THE U.S. Such an incredible gun and we can't own it! I wish that they would build them here so that we could we avoid that 89 import ban, and the 1968 gun control acts section for sporting purposes only clause.

Even though your probably right:burn:  :brickwall: The feller who posted the pic on the other web site said, and I quote "According to the Molot reps, all shotguns from Russia are importable into the US.. Still has to be modified to a "sporting" design though...."
Even if I think you are right, I hope and pray he is!

The Vepr 12 gauge is an upgrade of the Saiga 12 gauge.
Same basic design but with a thicker receiver.
The Vepr 12 gauge shotguns will not "I REPEAT WILL NOT BE IMPORTED WITH A PISTOL GRIP OR FOLDING STOCK".
All imported long guns are regulated much more severely than domestic weapons. Robinson Armament would have to convert the sporter imports into pistol grip versions as they arrive.
Hopefully, no one will create a drum magazine for the Saiga 12 and distribute them for civilian sales, because that would trigger the ATF to make good on their threat to classify the Saiga 12 as a NFA weapon class "Destructive Device".
That would cause a huge problem for not only Russian American Armory, Robinson Armament, and anyone who owns a Saiga shotgun or potentially hopes to own a Vepr 12. A DD classification would end mass importation of these types of shotguns.

I noticed in the picture of the Vepr 12 that it has a Vepr RPK Receiver on it like their rifles.

The RPK receiver would seem to be the upgrade.
The barrel thickness should be the same.

Has anyone heard if there will be someone importing the Vepr-12?
