It sounds like the grip screw could be touching the magazine. Try backing them out slightly and see if the problem goes away. You may need a washer for everything to fit properly.

Also keep in mind that the BD was not designed for the mags to drop free. You will need to either replace the mag brake with a straight one or flatten out the existing brake if you want your mags to drop free.

Just to clarify, the mag brake is that thin piece of metal you can see covering the hammer spring when you remove the grips. It has a slight curve to it and it's designed to keep the mags from dropping free. Remember...this pistol was designed for military and law enforcement use. The last thing you want happening in combat is to accidentally lose your magazine!
You can try to straighten out the mag brake or order a straight one from CZ-USA. I've tried straightening mine but it's not enough. There might be a temptation to remove it completely, but then you run the risk of the magazines getting jammed into the hammer spring on a reload.

FYI I ran into a similar problem with some Hogues. That's my info.

Grip screws CANNOT touch the magazine. If your mags were falling free with old grips and do not with new ones - problem is in grips. They may be too thick in the part that goes into opening in the frame. You may sand it a little bit off. And don't overtighten the grips screws.

I have a police model and the mags drop free. Is this a feature of the Police only?
