I posted a few weeks ago about my purchase of a Yugo M24/47 Mauser from AIM surplus.

I finally got a chance to take it out to the range today. Very nice gun. I shot 1970's ammo from AIM. The recoil reminded me of my 1891/30 Mosin-Nagant, maybe a touch less than the Mosin, but still a hefty kick.
I also posted how I broke my magazine spring a week ago, and since I haven't yet received the replacement, I was manually loading each round.
I was in kind of a rush and forgot my spoting scope, so I just setup 6 targets at 50 yards and shot 30 rounds. I didn't get a chance to look at any of the targets until the end. I was rather impressed. I shot all the rounds supporting the rifle with my elbows on the bench.
Two of the targets had 5 shots within 1.5" and 2" respectively. I have confidence that I could get the shots down to 1". The others had a few wild shots, but they grouped well. Much better than my Mosin-Nagant. My best with that rifle is all the shots within 2" and that happens pretty rarely. I should also mention it was quite windy today, with gusts up to 20 mph.
The trigger wasn't too bad, but believe it or not, I like the trigger on my Mosin better. The Mauser had a little creep at the beginning (you can see the bolt move down a fraction of a inch when you first apply pressure). The break wasn't quite as clean as the Mosin, but it was lighter.
Overall a really nice rifle. Once I remember to bring my spotting scope, I'll take it out to 100 yards and see what it can do. With a scope this would be very close to a 1 MOA rifle, I believe.
