I picked up a g34 from NYCDrew a few days ago. The thing is in great shape. Took it to IDPA today after not shooting all winter. I have been getting to the range lately but with my 19, 17 and 26 only.
I was quite nervous, not knowing if the gun would shoot like a dream, fail to shoot, or blow up in my hands. I ripped the whole gun apart last night and checked out everything, looked good.
I had no clue what the recoil be like, how the new 3.5 connector would work or how the sight picture would be during recoil.
Sure enough i think i ended up doing almost the best i have done in all IDPA matches, and i haven't even shot this year yet!
The recoil of the gun was nice. Felt lighter than with the 17, and my sights were back on much quicker i though. The weight of the gun was nice, didn't really recognize anything out of the ordinary. I had to pull the gun further out of my holster though with the longer slide, i felt like my hand was in my armpit before the slide came out of the holster . The trigger was nice, didnt reall notice much difference, but i was getting the hits i needed. Sights were the stock glock sights with the adjustable rear. That was another thing, i didn't know if the rear sight was even on target, but it was.
Well, i came home and swapped out the stock sights for a Dawson front/Heinie rear, so we'll see what happens next match and after some practice.
All in all, i think the 34 did a fairly great job.
