Hey folks,
I don't know if this book has been brought up before, so I apologize if it has.
A short while ago, I bought and read a book called "Loving Homosexuals as Jesus Would", by Chad Thompson. This is a beautifully written book, that EVERYONE should share and read with one another, whether you're Christian, Gay, Liberal, Conservative, etc etc. None of that matters when you read this book, because you'll see that there are no specific answers to each side. It rather focuses on the Love of Christ, and how it could better be directed to those who are "misguided".
I loved the book very much, and I plan on reading it again. Before I read this book, I was apprehensive, because I expected a gay bashing book, written from an extremist's POV. I have many gay friends, and I have seen first hand just how good of people, and how loving they can be to one another and to the world abroad. So, I was pleasantly suprised to find that it rather questions some more direct beliefs that should be directed, and are in serious need of change; particularly, with the deeply conservative Right. There's no bashings of conservatives either, but rather, ideas which are brought up to help change many biased beliefs on homosexuals.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in reading on the topic of religion and homosexuality. The link is below:
A little bit about the book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1587431211/104-8566329-8988769?v=glance&n=283155)
Mr. Thompson also runs a popular website for anyone interested on more info: Inqueery.com (http://inqueery.com/)
Take care, good reading, and God bless.

Gotta give you kudos for having the'nads to post this book review. Have you read What God Has Joinned Together: A Christian Argument for Gay Marriage (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060774614/qid=1144711978/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/102-6271083-9086514?s=books&v=glance&n=283155) ? It's the best laid-out presentation of this topic I've yet to see.

Fred and Spober, not that I want to start a debate in the wrong thread, but do Gays not deserve the same love we would give anyone else? Do they not deserve to be heard?
I simply am offering a book that presents BOTH sides of the issue, and offers questions and solutions to BOTH sides of the issue. This book is in no way shape or form bias against either side of the argument. If you don't want to take the time to study the subject and stick to a one-sided mindset, that is perfectly okay. But please do not bash the "evil liberal commie hippie scum" over a book, before you even look at it. If you ever see the book in a store, pick it up and take a look through it. I think you'll be suprised by what you read. That's all I'm trying to say. I'm not pressing some "evil liberal gay agenda" here. I'm offering a good book, that is pleasant to read.
Beamnice, I'll take a look at that book. Thank you, all.

I don't know about that book, nor am I going to read it. But you really should stop picking up that book and start looking at your Bible a little more.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 states:
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor HOMOSEXUAL OFFENDERS nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
I don't know whom your heart follows, but I gotta tell ya'- If the Word of God says that it is wrong, I really do not care what liberal media has to say about it being right. There is a reason Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed...

And you're contributing what to this thread besides sarcastic comments? It's conservatives like you that give your party a bad name. Either you have something constructive, polite, and mature to say, or don't say anything at all. Even Bush gave a liberal the time of day to speak his mind recently.
People...this book does not tell you you HAVE to do things a certain way! I think that's something that's not being understood here. Did any of you bother to even consider that it's written from, not only a Christian Perspective (using many direct quotes from the Bible, I might add), but also from a man who's a FORMER gay? A man who decided to step away from the homosexual lifestyle when he refound Jesus in his life, and became born again? This book doesn't tell you that anything is right or wrong with either side, so if you're afraid that it's aim is to "make you believe" a new way of living/thinking, then you should be pleasantly mistakened here, because it only OFFERS some ideas about how one MIGHT better themselves as a Christian. It encourages the reader to keep his/hers beliefs, while just offering a view from someone who's been there. That's all! There's really nothing to it.

I appreciate your input, but I'll decide for myself what books I read, Bible included. God gave me an independence to think for myself, make my own judgments, and follow my heart in Goodness and Faith. God didn't make me a mindless minion, and I don't believe he made humanity as such either. But that's another argument for another time.
Thank you all for keeping an open mind, whether you choose to broaden it that much more or not, it really doesn't matter to me. However, if you cannot contribute anything to this thread besides "bias liberal" bs, then don't bother responding please. Believe me, I can say the same thing about anything that Limbaugh, Rielly, Ann Culter, or any other Conservative would write. But I won't, because I choose to keep an open mind, trust that a Higher Power will set things right, and listen to both sides of an issue before passing my own judgments in life.
Don't judge a book by it's cover! God speaks to us all in different ways. This book, IMO, is just one of many. Thanks.

Interesting, for the "word of God" says:
Ezekiel 16.49:
This was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.
and it doesn't have anything to do with a sexual orientation.
