View Full Version : Is there something wrong here?
So I go to vehix.com and search for Rangers. I want the little 4cyl. (Hey, I'm spoiled by my Dad's old .jp truck that still got 20+ MPG around town when it was more than 15 years old.)
Is it just me or is there something wrong when a little pickup (say, smaller than a 3/4 ton) has an automatic transmission?

I have an '89 K1500(means its a 4x4) and it is AT. So what? Most trucks are automatics. Now smaller trucks like a ranger or s10 should be manual IMO!

I agree. That thing is probably going to be a dog anyways. You should at least have a manual trans so you can ring it out.
I'm looking at a ranger type vehicle for my next car. Specifically (given how little stuff I actually haul other than what would be in the tool box in the bed), I'd be looking at the 4cyl manual. Loved my Dad's little Nissan.
