SKS Field Strip Question

My friend bought a Yugo SKS today with a Fiberforce dragunov style stock already installed. The rifle was packed with cosmoline so we started to field strip and clean. I have never messed with one of these stocks before, and found that the receiver cover would not slide rearward away from the receiver because of the raised plastic piece on the aftermarket stock. I am sure there is some trick to doing this, but I don't know what it is. Any help?? Thanks a lot!

Thats the bad thing about that stock, you have to take the rifle completly out of it, you cant just remove the reciever cover.

Yep I just figured it out last night...a real pain in the rear. We got it stripped down, cleaned, and put back togather. Thanks!
