I am looking to buy a chrono.
Any recommendations/precautions that I should be aware of?
Thanks

I bought one of the reconditioned F1 Chrony's that they sell on their web site. It works fine as long as the lighting conditions are reasoanble and it only cost 50 bucks. It doesnt have any fancy featues and you have to write down each reading as you shoot it but it works great for my modest needs.

Anything except a Chrony, imo. I had muy headaches out of 2 of them that I have had. Finally just shot the last 1 for satisfaction since it wasnt doing anything else for me(and then sold it on eBay for $30 so some poor sucker, tho warned by me, bought it to use as a trade-in).
Before anyone says anything, yes, i know how to operate one properly. My first Chrony worked well for about a year once I figured it out(no small feat with its sensitivity to light conditions), and then promptly died. I used the old one as a $50 trade-in per company policy, where I was treated like some kind of leper by the snotty lady at Chrony. New one never worked properly.
When I get another one, I'll probably buy quality this time and just plan on spending a little more.

I've been running mine for 4 or 5 years with no problems. Go figure.
