View Full Version : Range Day Pics........
Just thought I'd share some pictures from this weekend's range visit. Here I am trying out my new custom sling that my brother made for me:

Here's a combo pic, from top left to bottom right, getting ready, just pulled the trigger, completing a reload:

And while I was there, shot my brother's AR:

Just thought I'd share some "porn" with y'all. :)

I've never seen anyone reload a shotgun like that. Is that style something you learned or something you developed on your own?

Out of curiosity, IS there a 'proper' way to reload a pump?
I shoot some steel competitions with my shotgun, and that's how I was "taught" to do the reloading. With the side saddle on the shotgun, when you rotate it and put it on your shoulder, the reloading is done right in front of your face, very minimal movement of arms, and great visibility. Also, your left hand never moves from where it should be, so you get back to the firing position faster.

Only whatever way lets you do it the fastest. ;)
That actually makes a lot sense with the side saddle set up! I'll have to give it a try when I get my side saddle....
Nice gun.
I have a side-saddle on my 500. I prefer keeping the gun top-side up, on target, round chambered, with my right hand on the rear grip finger off trigger ready to fire. I use my left hand to grab rounds and insert them into the magazine from the bottom. I've never had trouble fumbling a shell that required me to look at it.
If I did drop a round, I'd just let it fall and grab another.
Use whatever works for you, I'm certainly no shotgun expert. I really do prefer to have my trigger hand in position, ready to fire in case I need to while reloading.

I do what Ron3 does.
And tell your brother to get a vertical foregrip on that rail.
