Forget about the book, try to find a chrome lined barrel from McMillan is your best bet, customers claimed off hand head shots out to 125 yrds, ten shots on a gallon jug at the same distance with iron sights, send me PM if you want to know more.

The barrel will improve your accuracy indeed but it has to be matched with a reciver from a RPK which has a thicker piece of metal and will keep the barrel from shifting, I am looking for this barrel right now, hold on.

One of the problems that you have with a piston operated system is accuracy. First you have infringment of the piston and tube on the barrel. Next you have the problem of harmonics caused by the piston system and it's effect on the barrel. Putting a match grade barrel on an AK usually will not help the accuracy. Has anyone ever looked at the length of a Vepr gas tube? It's to help with the harmonics so the gun is more accurate, not just so that they can legally import them.
