Active Duty (Hi-Cap Mags)

I am currently active duty stationed in CA and recently purchased an LE Glock 23 with three 13 round mags while on leave in AZ. My permanent residence is in Arizona. I called the Sheriff's Dept. here in CA and they told me I could have the hi-cap mags for home use only. Then I called a shooting range in CA and one of the guys told me I could have them since I am active duty and to just keep my ID on me at all times. Anyone have a solid answer on this, and somewhere I can read it in writing? Thanks for the help.

I'm just gonna play it safe. I ordered some 10 rounds mags today.
