I am picking up another S&W 10xx and it is more worn than the rest of my collection.
My main questions are:
Can S&W re-bead blast the gun to even out the finish?
Has anyone had this done? If so, what was your perception of their refinishing work?
Thanks. :)
S&W can do the bead blast for you, while its there, ask them to go through the pistol to make sure it is in specs. If its worn out , it might have some safety issues and they will have the ability to take care of it for you. Make sure you specify the warrenty aspect, it could be covered too, worth a try.
Good luck. cheers
i was impressed with s&w service,
years ago i had a s&w 645 ,45 acp that would not extract.
i sent the gun to s&w,i asked to be informed about a price for work preformed .
about 3 weeks later ,my FFL called and said pick up gun.
S&w
had replaced the extractor
polished the feed ramp
inspected,cleaned and lubed my pistol.
they also replaced the recoil spring, and gave me a reduced power spring for lighter loads.
now this pistol was purchased used.....
the invoice stated 0 balance due!!!!
now thats customer service.
Cool... I just picked up a 1066 that has quite a bit of holster wear and a few light scuff marks and was wondering if S&W could clean her up a bit.
What's the best way to make first contact with S&W? By phone or email?

That's good to hear. I will snap a few pictures, then try to get it sent off.
Thanks for the feedback. :)
