Worse case scenario, shoot a G30 at the range. It obviously isn't the same as a 10mm, but it should give you an idea if the ergonomics will work for you. If you can shoot it easily, then getting a G29 should go smoothly. If the recoil is about all you want, then switching to the 10mm isn't probably a good choice.
If you ever pass through central Oklahoma, I'd be glad to let you shoot mine.
Actually, that goes for anybody... I'll go to the range with anyone in the Oklahoma City area that would like to shoot some of my 10's. Of course I wouldn't charge to shoot them, but you'd have to supply the FACTORY ammo (DoubleTap's are fine). However, there are a couple that even I don't shoot...
I own both (G30 & G29)
If you have access to a 30 try shooting some
200gr or lighter rounds through it. I shot some Powerball 185gr?
through my 30 once and it seemed similiar to my 29's recoil.
My 29 took about 100+ rounds before I got used to it.
The 29 is now my favorite Glock. Hope this helps.
Also I recommend the Pierce grip too ;)
If you lived in North Ohio I could have helped you out.
