I got a bladetech thigh holster that will fit my 34, 17, and 23 with the M3 light attached. I was hoping it would also fit the guns without the light attached, but it's too loose without the light. So if I'm going to use this holster in a local match, the M3 will have to be attached.
Is there an increased chance of doing some damage to the light/bulb by putting several hundred rds though week after week? Or is this just a crazy thought?

Nope. I've put several hundred through my M6 without a hitch. I do however shoot much better with no light attached.
Good luck at the match.

It certainly won't help your bulb out any. The M3 is also not known for being all that reliable. I think your are better off with some kind of LED light (like the SF X200 series).
