Took my 17 out for its and my first competitive shoot today. The Glock shot great. I didn't. It was a hoot. If you have a G17, or any pistol, and haven't been out to try this, I'll tell ya what Nike does, "Just do it." The sights were real good. The trigger (stock) was just like a "shoot" switch, don't think I even noticed it. The bone stock G17 will be better than me for a long time to come. Don't worry about major/minor or anything else. Just go. The 17 will do you right. Cheers.

I agree with you. At one time, I bought a G34 for USPSA/IPSC. I sold it after two matches, and went back to my G17's. The G17 handles better, feels better, and I am more accurate with it.
In my book, nothing beats the G17 for competition.

I too use a G17 for USPSA/IPSC shooting in production class.

I love it. My 13 year old son prefers the 3rd generation G19.

I've been shooting a G17 in IPSC here in Canada for more than a year.

Shot a CZ before that. Piece of ****. Nothing makes Glock fans faster than cheapo guns.

It's the right gun. I expect to make master this year with it. FYI, a master in Canada is about an A... maybe a high B in the US. In regular IPSC rules (not USPSA), production can use a race holster. We're still stuck with 10 round mags, though.
