I have narrowed my choices down to two flashlights. Surefire G2 and Streamlight Scorpion. I can get either light at around the same price and was wondering which one you would go with. I have heard Brinkmann is a good choice; but I am only interested in Surefire or Streamlight.
Opinions are welcomed...
thanks for your time,

Own both. THe G2 is brighter IMHO.

I have both as well, the Scorpion is a bit smaller and has better throw but the G2 has a much cleaner hotspot and better sidespill from the textured reflecter.

I had a Streamlight, I bought 2 Surefires.
The "Click on" option is nice, but makes an audible click and there is no "lockout" ability where the light is very, very, definitely off.
The Surefires have the lockout and either constant-on or intermittent depending how far you turn the tailcap (with a handy little indicator).
They're both good lights, but I prefer the Surefires, for CCW, the E2E, for duty/military use (as now) the 6P or 9P.

Not all G2's have a lockout tailcap, it is a fairly recent addition.
The bulbs for the Scorpion are about $6 each, while a P60 for the Surefire is about $16. The bulbs in the Scorpion can fall out if it is dropped on its bezel.
To get a clickie switch for the Surefire you need to go aftermarket, and it wont be polymer.
