So I was at a gunstore this week and was looking for a beamcover for my surefire forends that I have mounted on my 590SP and 870MM and we where trying some beamcovers for the 6P and other ones trying to see what would fit.... well they had nothing that would fit so Butler creek was suggested.

Objective Cover #5 from the butler creek flip up cover's fits perfectly..... keeps the dust off the light and also stops the nasty breakage when you drop something on them in the safe.

they fit a little loose, loose enough that you can spin them to line them up correctly (takes a good grip to align), but not to loose that they will inadvertently come off. and $10 sure beats $40 when it comes to faux tactical ninja's like myself ;)

Spending $10 to protect a $350 forend to me just makes sense ;)

Is This is a joke? I would rather wipe off the dust occasionally, than to have it flip closed on me when my life is on the line. You'd have to fumble with it when you're half-awake in the dark also. Have you tested it under recoil, and quick cycling? Dust won't harm a $350 light. Personally if dusting were too much for me to handle...I'd get a small cover like binoculars, and scopes use. Then you just have to flip it off, and worry about finding it later. At least it won't get you killed.

gee, butler creek scope covers and you think they are un tested under recoil..... do you know how many hunting rifles have them ?? I have them on my 375 H&H and they have never moved under recoil.

side by side with the surefire brandname beamcover's that LEO and Military people use every day the butler creek has a stronger spring.

just like to add... thesedo not just flip closed, they take an effort to close, otherwise the spring will hold them open.... the spring onnly holds the one way, and to open them is as easy as pushing the little black tab.

anyone familiar with butler creek scope cover caps knows of thier quality and construction.

The guns not exactly useless while the cover is closed either. Plenty of people don't eve put lights on their gun.

only the mall ninjas are having problems with their flip ups.... they take the spring out so they open faster. (quote Gecko45 unquote)
