Is your hammer Chip McCormick? How about the safety grip? If you don't mind me asking, what store sells the sights, and for how much?

BTW, nice gun!

Thanks! Was there machining done to install the sights, or did the rear sight fit in the standard slot? Sights are small parts, so hindi na siguro pinapansin, IMO.

Kaya mo siyang igalaw back & forth ng around 1mm. ;)

Yes Kcboy, dapat may PTT ka covered yung way mo doon sa preferred mong gunsmith.
Btw, I think I've heard your brand name (Cheepuck) before. My wife is working there, her name is Lanie.:)Sorry for hijacking the thread. ;)

What brand of 1911 do you have, if you don't mind me asking? My Norinco had that same situation as your 1911. Honestly, it looked kinda ugly. I asked my gunsmith if I should do something about it. The first thing he asked me if the gun was accurate. When I told him yes, he said not to bother with it.

He also advised me not to use a barrel bushing that was too tight on a carry gun. According to him, a barrel bushing that's tight has a chance of binding.:)

Hi Isuzu, the blaster is a Norinco Factory enhanced version. The gap is really ugly specially when you have other 1911s to compare with and do not have the thing. As it is, the pistol shoots reliably and accurately (combat accurate). My worry is that with prolonged usage the bushing might give in causing some damage to the pistol, worse to the user.

When I replaced the barrel bushing, after about several sessions I noticed a bright line on top of my barrel (upper cross section) exactly at the rear inside portion of the bushing. The rear top (inside) part of the bushing is binding the barrel during rearward motion of the slide. However, the accuracy improved a little as I was able to get tighter groups.

I can manage to leave that thing inspite of the appearance, its the safety issue I'm worried or am I just being paranoid. At any rate, I'll have that fixed on the soonest opportunity. Thank you for sharing. :) :) :)

Hi, Hermo. When you sold me your S&W 686Plus, you said you would concentrate on 1911s, and apparently you have.

The 686Plus is fine. Absolutely no jams (oh boy, I remember the 1911 days!). Only "problem" is the slower reload but I discovered if the gun is held competely 90 degrees to the ground, the speedloader reload is pretty fast naman.

I'll eventually buy another 1911, but I like the BIG FLASH and ROAR of the .357 with a four inch barrel. Fired in SA mode at a target about 30 meters away , it must be one of the most accurate four-inch barrelled handguns around. A .357 round drops practically zero at that distance.

The 686 for accuracy at a distance; the 1911 for self-defense up-close. Of course, the 686 loaded with +P .38 is good up close inside a house too.

Hi Ante, long time no hear sir (or maybe it's me). Yes sir you have a very good revolver there. No need for trigger work cause it came with a very very good (or "orgasmic" as you say it) trigger pull out of the box. Wala pa halos 50rnds yung naiputok ko sa pistola na iyan and it really roars with the .357 mag. but the recoil is very much manageable.

As of now trying to limit myself to 1911s (.45cal.) and really it has the "mystique". Ewan ko nga ba pati Norinco iba dating sa akin, it's cheaply priced but not the gun. With some tweaking & gunsmith work nagiging maayos. But then again iba pa rin sir yung Colt (currently asking for my father's Korean war vintage Colt, sana ibigay na:supergrin: ).
