View Full Version : XS sights small dot?
Well,
I have read several posts about the XS big dot system, but what do you think of the standard dot?
is it any more accurate?
change target aquisition?
I carry a G22 and use it for target shooting, but do not shoot competitively.
thanks,
Carl
Maybe the reason being that the "Big Dot" is easier to quickly pick-up both eyes open combat shooting etc(for which it was meant). From there its probably better to go to normal non-XS sights for precision shooting. Though some get pretty good with the XS system.

What he said. My G30 is a carry gun and wears them. Never had a problem putting a shot where I want it (including a 50 yard offhand headshot), though that would take a little practice to do again.....
Heinie Straight Eights with the cut are nearly as fast, and "dot on top of dot" appears to be a bit more accurate for the game shooters who need speed and insane accuracy in the same sight. Not really for me, but that's why there's more than just plain black sights.
SO...
in your opinion...
would you say that a casual shooter who also wants holy Sh** I need to defend myself reliability would benefit from the XS 24/7 system small dot?
Thanks for the input
Carl
If your eyes are less than 20/20 and you haven't already found some killer price on some regular sized dots you'd probably be better off with the "big" dots. Here's some more info and a demo video..(links)

I highly recommend them. Just bought a set of Warren sights with a Dawson FO front. They are great for competition I'm sure, but if you aim at something dark the rear sight completely dissapears in some lighting situations. If I had used the front that came with it, I would think it would dissapear also. The XS sights are always visible. I want to trade them for another set of XS sights.
