Hey,,, im thinking about getting some bowling pins to shoot, but i was wondering.. how long do they normally last? what type of damage is done to the pin when it is shot? I will be shooting them with my 9mm.

My shooting group bought some and they lasted us about 4 trips. We shot them with everything we had. There were .380 acp, 9x18, 9mm, .40, .45, .223, .308, and .30-06.
We were surprised at how much abuse they took too.
We used to shoot pins indoors at 25 yds. They're really tough. 9mm won't even exit the pin.
How long they will last depends somewhat on where they get hit. If you are hitting them square on in the center they will withstand lots of hits.
All it takes is one low hit to the base, and you blow out the plastic ring in the base, and you will fight to get that pin to stand up any longer.
