View Full Version : Marine Springs Cups
Anybody install the Glock marine spring cups in a M17 yet? I've located some, and ordered two sets last night. Absolutely no intention of firing it in the water, but think it is the ultimate trickout.

A Glock armorer installed them on my Glock 19 for free while ago (nice guy). I too never intend on firing my Glock underwater, but I must admit, I think it's cool that my gun has them.
However, they are really, really small, and I remember watching him install them. It looked like a pain in the ass to me. Thus, I haven't had the guts to install them on my G17. Plus, it's kind of a waste of time and money. But hey, do what you want. Just make sure you get them in there correctly.
I received the two sets of cups about 4 days after I placed the order. I went to a Glock armorer's course last November, and had to look at the manual to refresh my memory. I hate to read instructions! I ordered two sets in case I lost a set installing them. Got the first set in the 17 without problems, and installed an
extended slide release while I had it apart. I installed the second set in a Glock 34. Glock says they are to only be used in a G-17, although the cups fit most if not all the Glocks. Cute little devils.

Where does Glock say that they should only be installed in a G17? Not that I doubt you, I just wondered where they state that. I have never heard that before.
The instructor at my armorer's course went into detail on the maritime or marine spring cups. They will fit any Glock, but were designed only for the Glock 17. Glock will not sell maritime cups, and you have to go to an after market dealer to get them. Regular cups cost $2 a pair, and maritime cups are $10 from the source I found. Maritime cups are not mentioned in my Glock armorers manual, but if you go on the web to "Top Glock Frequently Asked Questions", it goes into detail why they should only be used on a Glock 17. Glock will only sell Model 17's equipped with maritime cups to
government agencies. I think there isn't an import ban on them, and all suppliers have a source outside the U.S. they can get them from.

Many shoters have never seen "Glock marine spring cups" before.
This is what they look like:
