Kimber 10's

I waited patiently to get a 10mm Kimber. I finally found on and bought it. It is a Kimber Target II Stainless. Then just this week I found another one in another shop that is an Eclipse and I like it a lot better. Here's the question.

What models did Kimber make the 10mm in? And did they make it in any of the smaller sized pistols like the Pro's? My favorite would be if they made a 10mm in a Raptor Pro II. I seem to like the balance of the Pro's better than the full size pistol.

Kimber makes the Eclipse Custom II and the Target Stainless II in 10mm. It is the only models that I know of that they make in 10mm.

Unfortunately, they haven't produced any small models in 10mm. If they did I'd definitely buy one.

I believe that the only 10mm's that Kimber sells as part of their normal lineup is the Kimber Stainless Target II and the Kimber Eclipse. I've seen people convert a Pro Carry .40 Commander sized into a 10mm by doing some work to it but Kimber themselves don't sell anything smaller than full size (5" tube).

I had considered calling their custom shop and having them make me a series 70 10mm full size w/ a light rail but I have other projects that take precedence.

FWIW, I owed a Stainless Target II and and ASHAMED at myself for selling it. Luckily, I sold it to my step brother so I can see her ANY time I want to. Great gun. Personally, I actually prefer the target to the eclipse b/c of finish and sights.

I guess I'll just hang on to the Stainless Target II that I have. I called the shop that had the Eclipse and it went out the door this morning. I am used to a three dot sight like their night sights and I am much more accurate with them. I have a Raptor Pro II with night sights and I can shoot circles around the Target II 10mm. I had a Delta Elite that I hit a whitetail deer in the head with at 50 yards this year. It had a three dot sight on it.

I will say though that the Kimber has a much better trigger in it than the Delta did. It will just take some getting used to with the target sights instead of the three dot sight.

I do like the finish on the Stainless but I think the Eclipse is prettier. But for when I carry it hunting the shiny Eclipse might prove to be a fault.

I will just have to think of more reasons why I should not get rid of the Target in favor of the Eclipse. I still wish they would make a 10mm in the Raptor. And better yet, a Raptor Pro II.

You want a checkered front strap? How about an Eclipse finish? Or maybe some tritium night sights?

I sent my frame in to the Kimber Custom shop to have my front strap checkered and I recently sent my slide in to Dawson Precision for a fiberoptic front sight (in fact, the slide is there as I write this):
