I got mine about a year ago. It is in excellent condition. No holes drilled in it.
Same here. The rifles are in excellent condition. Mine had never been fired. The only wear were a few marks on the stock from being moving in and out of storage.
No holes in the grenade launcher either.

I have one from a year or so ago (no holes either).
I just ordered another from AIM where they say they are their nicest batch to date.
If they are nicer than my #1 yugo sks, I am in.

If AIM says they are excellent, then they are... :)
I have one. great condition from the newest batch. i am traveling so can't post photo.
no holes
The one I have is rare then.
Now I need another rare one.;)
I'll have to make a call.
I bought a few from AIM in the past and they were in great shape, I am thinking about ordering a couple of these this time around too.

Both from AIM. Top one is unissued, bottom is shooter-grade that I refinished. Both came with matching log books!
Just got another excellent from AIM on Tuesday. Absolutely soaked in cosmoline, but the metal looks pretty good. A couple of dings in the stock, but overall about what I expected to get.

Got my EX cond. SKS with matching #'s and flash supressor holes drilled in the end.
I'm really liking AIM :)
Now UPS is another story :frown:

What did UPS do? I got my tracking # the day AIM charged me, and it showed up as promised. My only gripe is that I worked from home all day, and the joker didn't show up until 6 pm.
I ordered one through a local gun shop a last week. I picked it up today, and while it was covered in cosmiline, it also had a red tag on it that includes the statement:
All used or surplus firearms should be inspected by a gunsmith pior to shooting as SOG has no testing facility.
I also noticed a nicer looking SKS covered with cosmiline displayed on his wall. I've checked out SOG's website, and they offer good to very good SKS's for the same price as AIM's excellent SKS's.
I've ordered a Swiss K31 from AIM through him before, and it was a good experience, but this is not adding up.
On Monday I'm going to try to call both SOG and AIM to see if they can verify the serial number as being sold to my local shop. Any suggestions?
Sorry, posted the same msg twice. Not sure how that happened.

Man that would suck if they tried to pull the switcheroo on ya.
I'd find out asap and get it in writing from AIM.
If they won't give you the ser # they shipped, the store should be able to show you their FFL log (ie: you know what day your rifle showed up). If the store started messing with their book, I'd think that they'd loose their license asap.
Good Luck.
PS: I've order a dozen rifles from AIM and none of them had a SOG tag. Something definately smells fishy here.
PSS: Get your C&R and you won't have to put up with this kind of BS.
They might have just called SOG because it's a better deal for them or they just made a mistake.
Either way I like AIM's SKS EX rating better then anyone else so far. They really do sell an EX SKS at a VG price.

I had a note FRI. that the gun was going to be dropped off MON so ...be home to sign for it.No problem.
I take off work and sit from 7am to 8pm waiting for the gun and it never comes.I called 3 times MON and said "it's comming right" YUP we deliever till 7pm the driver is on his way.NO GUN
So I call TUES and tell them after 4:30 the gun has to be dropped off.ok
1 hour later I'm told NO pick it up yourself42minutes away from my home) or give us a daytime address to send it to(I do service and I drive around all day)so that's a no go.
I say fine send it back or drop it off WED,THUR,orFRI.
They say "ok we will send it back"
Tuesday after work I'm in the yard playing with the dog.UPS pulls up at 4:45 and the driver hands me my rifle.
I tell him the run around I got, and he has no idea any of this has gone on, so I'm nice as to him.
About 5:15 another UPS truck pulls up and the regular driver and said "the office said you called this morning and wanted to return a packed you recieved earlier this week":freak:
I explain this whole thing again and the driver tells me "don't worry about the other drive or the office .I'll pick up your package and have it here from now on between 4:30 and 5:30 the worst thing that will happen is it will take one more day"NO PROBLEM I can wait.
Thank god someone at UPS cares about me.
That really sucks. I've never had that bad of an experience with UPS. The worst thing I've had to deal with is a day the driver decided to come through early. I was going to take a half-day off work because he's usually here in the late afternoon. I check tracking and sure enough, delivery attempted at 11am.
I called the customer service line and spoke to a nice lady, she called the driver and had him come back out.
