I am looking for a good scope that would fit an Enfield Mk. 4, I would like a scope that fits the period, of the rifle, so no newer looking stuff, I don't mind if it is a newer made scope, I just want it to have an old military look to it, thanks in advance.

There was only one scope really used for the No.4 Mk1 (T) (Sniper model) and at the moment, can't recall it...... hold on, looking it up.. it's just called the telescopic sight, straight, L1. Hmm.
A 4X Weaver Alaskan would look "right" (as much "right" as you can get putting a scope on a rifle not intended for a scope) and is fairly available. There's a no-drilling scope mount out there for the No.4 Mk1 as well.
With mine, I can hit truck sized targets at 900+ yards with the iron sights, and man sized targets out to 400-500 without a problem. 2-man size targets are in danger out to 600. Why a scope?

I just want an "Enemy at the Gates" look for my enfield, a mauser 98 would fit better, but I'm just using what I have right now, I am also kind of making a project out of it. I have seen Mosin Nagant rifles out there with scopes already on them, that might be a better way to go. I like the old stuff.
P.S. could you get a picture or a link to this 4X Weaver Alaskan scope, I am not familiar with that title, thanks.
