A Tanfoglio Witness 10mm full size in Wonder Finish for $299 - I couldn't pass it up at this price. Used but NIB unfired. I've heard good things about them, and the grip fits my hand better than a G29/20. Trigger feels good, pistol feels tightly made and sturdy, blah blah blah. Haven't heard of them having kabooms either.

I felt like I needed something new since I couldn't buy my old G30 back. Here is a poor camera phone photo of mine, taken in the dark so the wife doesn't wake up and see it ;)

I've been looking to pick up one of the Witness's in 10MM, but I haven't found any in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. :frown:

Good price! I would upgrade the recoil spring with a Wolff 20lb unit, and have the feedramp polished. Most reliability problems with the Witness seem to center around either a rough feedramp or misaligned magazine.

I'm hoping to shoot it this next week, but I'm still too sick from a recent illness to go out just yet.

I did order two 15 round mags from EAA last night for $57 shipped, so I'm busting my price range a little.

All I have laying around is 2 boxes of 10mm Silver Tip. So, I'll need to get more ammo too.

Does your new Witness allow for cocked and locked carry, like a 1911?

Yes, but I'd have to be confident in my holster, and since this is a house gun I don't have one.

I'll likely keep it loaded with Double tap 200gr XTP for deep penetration for the lone local mountain lion and couple of 350lb black bears we sometimes see. (I also keep a .30-30 with 170gr Fusion ammo for those).
