View Full Version : Got my Crimson Trace today
Very nice packaging, great product. Easy to install, allinged with sights right out of the box. Only complaint is I was filling out the registration card (they provide batteries for life if you buy one before 6/20/06) and I had to take them off to get the s/n. Wish they'd put it on the box, it's hard to find on the grip.

Timely post! I just ordered a set for my Sig 226. Sorry you had to pull your grips back off to get the Ser. #, but glad that now I won't have to! :)
Batteries for life? CT starting to sound better all the time. Thanks for the S/N tip.
I really really like that new product. The only thing i dont like is that there is no way ( that I am aware of ) to grip the gun and NOT have the laser come on.

how would you rate thi sproduct on a scale of 1 to 10? (10 being great)
I am thinking about getting one tomorrow. How does it feel in your hand? What model Glock do you own?
I don't have them, but I've seen them in use and they look great. That would kinda suck if they came on every time you gripped the pistol. I'm thinking about getting some though.
Hey Ranger, see sig.;)
have a set on my 19. If you gip a little lower the light won't come on. Can do it now easy.

Do you think an X200 or other tactical light would get in the way of the laser?

I JUST GOT MY SET TODAY, THEY WENT ON IN LESS THAN A MIN. AND THEY WORK GREAT. TOOK THEM TO THE RANGE AND THEY WERE ACCURATE NEEDED ALITTLE BIT OF TWEEKING. I OWN A 31 IN .357SIG. ON A RANGE OF ONE TO TEN I WOULD SAY A 10, THEY CHANGE THE GRIP A LITTLE BIT BUT I LIKE IT, BUT EVERYONE IS DIFFRENT.
I registered the laser with CT last week - they already sent me a package with free batteries (I didn't even ask for them)!
You can grip it without the laser lighting up - it's easy to do with a minimum amount of practice.
How would I rate them on a scale of 1 to 10? A solid 10. A couple of other serious pistol shooters tried mine (G34) today and commented on the grip angle change and how much better it felt. Target acquistion is very fast with the CT's, I have Tru-Glo's on this Glock and it's much faster than lining up those bright sights.

Congratulations.. CTC makes a great product.
Does anyone have them installed on an OD Subcompact. I am wondering what it will look like on the minis.
Thanks,

The G-series Lasergrips are not blocked by any rail mounted light. (I run the X200 on my Glocks with the G-series, a potent combination)

I've had my CT for a G27 about a month. I really like them. After a little practice it's pretty easy to grip with out laser turning on. As I get older (so do my eyes) I'm having more have trouble making long shots because of of how hard it is for see the iron sights and target.
Last week I went to the range and was amazed how accurate I was with the laser even at 25 yards.
Also it's great dry practice. If you don't s-q-u-e-e-z-e the trigger or you flinch you really know it by the way the laser jumps. That's hard to see during dry practice without the laser.

Mine came in today. Easy to install. I just hope I can keep them on for IDPA. Probably have to take the batteries out. I like the way they make the grip feel.

YEAH SO I WAS AT THE RANGE YESTERDAY AND, THERE WAS 6 OTHER GUYS SHOOTING THERE. AS SOON AS I LINED UP MY FIRST SHOOT AND EVERYONE SAW THAT I HAD A LASER GRIP, THEY ALL STOPED AND STARTED TO WATCH ME. I WAS STILL TRYING TO ADJUST MY LASER SO MY SHOTS WERE ALL OVER THE TARGET, AND EVERYONE THERE STARTED TALKING ****. "OH YOU HAVE A LASER YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHOOT A SMALLER GROUPE THAN THAT, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. SO I TELL THEM THAT I AM SIGHTING IN MY LASER AND THE OLD RETIRED COPS IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME STARTED LAUGHING, AND SAID THAT I WAISTED MY MONEY. SO I MADE HIM TRY IT AND HE DIDN'T DO ANY BETTER, THE LASER JUMPED JUST AS MUCH AS IT DID WHEN I WAS HOLDING IT, AND I KEPT TELLING HIM THAT THEY ARE NOT SIGHTED IN. ANYWAYS IT WAS AN INTERESTING EXPERIANCE. HAS ANYONE ELSE EVER HAD THIS KIND OF PROBLEM AT THE RANGE. OR IS IT JUST ME BECAUSE I AM A YOUNGER GUY??:frown:
I have found there is often an anti-laser bias with some in the typical gun range crowd. They hold you up to a higher expectation and if you don't put your shots all in the same hole, it's ha-hah you wasted your money etc.
Keep practicing with it. Be sure to get the Crimson Trace videos, there very good.
When I went to sight mine in it was an indoor range where each lane was partially partitioned off so I just took my time and ignored everyone.
A few weeks ago I heard the people next to me making some good natured comments about lasers and I told him to try this with his gun. I held my gun at various levels, waist level, chest level, etc. (point shooting) never having the gun at eye level and put all my shoots within a handspan at 5-10-15 yards. He was pretty impressed.
I'm just an average shooter but with a little practice you'll start to see the benefits of lasers and your shooting will improve. Dry practice at home as much as you can.

THANKS RRR FOR THE INFO ON THE VIDEO I WILL HAVE TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE VIDEO, YEAH THE RANGE THAT I SHOOT AT IS INDOOR TOO, AND THE LIGHTING COULD BE BETTER SO AS SOON AS THE LASER ACTIVATES EVERYONE CAN SEE IT, ANYWAYS I WILL BE HEADED BACK TO THE RANGE AS SOON AS I GET OUT OF WORK TODAY. THANKS AGAIN
