Watch the very end for his opinion on U.S. soldiers using AKs.
Also
7.62 short 7.62x39
7.62 long 7.62x54 Draganov
He says the AK will use 7.62 "short" and "long".
Uh, no it won't.
As for US troops using Ak's, I think it happened during the invasion when groups of soldiers used up their own 5.56 ammo and used what was available to keep them in the fight until resupplied.
I also believe guys driving trucks or tanks grabbed them earlier on so either they'd have more than a pistol if fighting came to them or so they'd have another rifle in case they had a stoppage or changing mags just wasn't fast enough.
Special ops types are surely still using AK's on certain missions where that is what their allies will be using or they don't want it known who they work for.
But I don't think our troops would toss away their M16 ever. For one it's not theirs to toss! For two it would be hard to explain to the Sarge!

I have never even heard of short or long 7.62. What is it?

Interesting.
He was most likely British, possibly Austrailian. Sounds like he uses the AK, but he also said he used the M4. He said a few other "wierd" things, not sure if he said it accidentally or what though...

Sorry, but that guy was a tool! He made several errors that any garden variety AK owner could spot!
An M16 foregrip.

7.62x54 was developed in 1891 and has stayed in service in PKM machineguns and SVD(Dragunov) Sniper Rifles.

betyourlife say "7.62 long is the round the AK based sniper rifle, Draganov (SP) fires."
Wrong again.
The cartridge used by the SVD (Dragunov) is the 7.62x54R.
It is not know as the 7.62 long. Never even heard that phrase before.
The SVD is not based on the AK. It is an entirely different design.
Internet research is recommended before you post on a subject which you are unfamiliar.
Romanian PSL was based on AK, SVD is was not. Among other things, it is a piston driven design, but is a short-stroke piston, whereas AK uses a long stroke design. Short stroke does not change balance of the rifle as much as as long stroke does.
