View Full Version : A Big Thanks To DoubleTap

I would like to give a big thanks to Mike at DoubleTap Ammo. In one of my previous post about bulging brass I mentioned some serious concerns.
I contacted Mike and he has made it right and stood behind his product. I felt a post on the 10-Ring was in order to reinforce the belief that most of us already knew that we can count on Mike McNett at DoubleTap Ammo.
Thanks Mike... :)
Yep, he did the same for me, but HE contacted me about a possible bad lot I recieved. Made it right. Awesome customer service. Much better than some other places I tried to do business with.

I just talked to Mike myself about the 10mm 200gr XTP/JHP I ordered from him. The package arrived today and took longer than I thought it should have but figured he was busy checking lot numbers etc. He confirmed this moments ago over the phone. I thanked him for taking the extra time to do that.
I'll be ordering again as soon as I pop these two boxes.

I've wondered before how big of an operation Mike has going out there. He still has nearly one-on-one service and quality but with mass-produced prices. I'd love to see a pic of your operation Mike...
I don't buy as much ammo as I should, but I either get the ammo from DT, or buy it from a stocking distributer.
I wish he produced .380 acp ammo, but I can see why he doesn't. He's got all the major ones covered.

I too had a similar and very positive experience with Mike McNett at Double Tap. I ended talking on the phone with him for about 15-20 minutes and he was nice enough to answer all of my numerous, ballistic related questions. This was just one shining example of how a good, honest company can turn a product recall into a positive experience that only improves product loyalty from the consumer rather than erode it.
Mike's got some cool surprises and product improvements coming down the pipe. So I'm going to keep checking the DT site regularly for this new stuff.......
Crazy Ed, how long did it take to get your replacement ammo? Its been over 3 weeks and mine hasnt arrived. I've e-mailed twice but havent received a reply yet.Anyone have the number so i can leave a message?

I never received any that needed to be replaced. I ordered after the bad brass was discovered and he took the extra time to make sure I had a good order to start with. Took a little longer but well worth the wait to me. I called him at the toll free number listed on his web page.
Speaking of which I picked up my G29 today!!! Now I'll need twice as much Double Tap ammo; plus I bought out what Sportsman's Warehouse had left of CCI Blazer for the range. Am I evil or what?

Mike was a great guy when I called. I would just call if I were you. E-mails can easily get piled beyond the ceiling.

My replacement order was shipped Monday and will get here tomorrow. I got the original order about two weeks ago.

McNett emailed me and replaced my ammo within a week. The new stuff shot fine.
I looked through the brass from the last batch of 200s I had and there WERE badly bulged cases from my G20 and G29. They were picked up for future reloading, and I'm glad Mike took the extra time(and I'm sure enormous expense) to contact all his customers, respond, and ship the replacement ammo.
Stand-up guy, all the way around.
I ordered a 4 pack on Monday , have'nt gotten e-mail verification or anything yet. Anyone know what their ship time / process is like ?
thx

I am not sure if Mike e-mails a confirmation with tracking number automatically or not, but when I order, I include a shipping info request in the comment section of the order process for someone to e-mail me with tracking number. I have always received an order within 5 business days.
I addition, I have followed-up with a phone message in reference to my order # requesting they e-mail a tracking number, as I like to know when ammo is going to be delivered so I can be home if possible. On orders under (I believe) $100.00 UPS or FedEx will leave at the door even if no one is home. Ammo is not something I want left unattended.
Reyn,
Try calling them. My replacement only took about a week and a half. Email sucks anyway.
Andy
He e-mailed me yesterday. Said it should be here this week. :)
