View Full Version : Trijicon CP25 Night Sights for AR-15 - novice installation?
1) Do you think a novice (me) should be able to successfully install Trijicon CP25 Night Sight 3-Dot Set AR-15 on a stock Colt LE6920? I don't care to mess it up.

2) And, are factory Colt AR-15 mags about as dependable as they come?
Thanks.

Yes.
The rear sight is a piece of cake, and really doesn't require any special tools, if you have an A2 sight. (could also be true of A1, but I have less exp. with that) The rear sight is threaded on the horizontal adjuster, and unscrewing that should be all that is required.
The front sight needs to be removed with the aid of a front sight tool (about $2-$3) and a small allen wrench or similar to be used to push the front sight detent pin in while the front sight is twisted out of the front sight blade.
Installation is the reverse of the procedure to remove both of them.
The Trijicon comes with a front sight tool (and instructions) which will make installation easy. At least mine did. I only got the front sight.
Thank you. I'll give it a shot. Do you think putting a night sight on the front only is the best way to go?
Thanks, JW
Yea, I got the front sight only (because of what I read here). The rear sight seems pointless as its too close to your face. Maybe if you were deep inside a cave it might come in handy, but otherwise you just don't need it to line up the front sight.
