Just wondering what you guys use for a concealment garment for IDPA (or any other competition that requires concealment). The first and only time I shot IDPA (can't wait to do it again) I used a Dickie's short sleeve button up work shirt that I found at Wal-Mart for about $15. I'm tall, and this shirt has an extra long tail so it conceals well. I'm just keeping my options open...tell me what you use. Links would be great too.

I use either a heavy cotton (think flannel shirt thick) shirt or a bright Hawaiian shirt, that's what I wear when I carry. The cotton shirt is easier to throw back on draws and reloads.
A lot of folks use various vests, some of them come with big pockets in the right places and stiff panels in the front.

5.11 vest. If you don't mind wearing digital desert camo, you can get one for $30 directly from 5.11, but the solid colors cost about $60-70. They are good for summer because of the lack of sleeves and the velcro patches inside make the sides stiff and make drawing easier - the vest doesn't catch between your hand and gun like a shirt can.
I use a Domke photo vest. The back is mesh so it's not too hot andf the material is stiff enough that it gets out of the way during your draw. I got mine at www.bhphotovideo.com. Wilson Combat used to sell them, I don't know if they still do.
Go ahead and get a 5.11 or Royal Robbins vest. You'll be glad you did. It will conceal well.
You can fing them at good Army surplus stores, or Google 5.11.
I STRONGLY recommend getting a khaki vest. Black will roast your "you know what's".

Have had and used a Domke for years. Own one is lt. green. Absolutely Great! Much lighter than 5.11 but tough enough for pro photo use. It is cut long in the 1st. place and oversized so can be worn over winter coats, etc. Tried a 5.11 but way to hot and heavy in my opinion. Can find Domke's at exc. prices in many NYC Photo Mail Order Camera stores, etc.
Whatever you get, you need something with pockets that can weight with extra mags, etc. so weight will allow full swing of garment on sweep of draw for best accesss to your guns grip.

i've only shot IDPA once...what a blast...can't wait to do it again.
i used the exact same shirt you did...purchased from the exact same chain...for the exact same amount of money. :)
i actually wear those shirts a lot in everyday life because they are short sleeved, comfortable, conceal a gun well, and don't advertise that you have a gun.
i figure since that is what i wear in everyday life, it makes sense to wear it for IDPA, too. of course, i'm not really trying to win and IDPA championship or anything.

I use a SigTAC vest which is almost exactly the same as the 5.11 just made by Sig (well, probably made by the same people that make the 5.11 but it has a Sig tag). Mines black but I haven't shot in the summer yet... I also have a polar fleece vest I wear in the winter. Got it at Dick's Sporting Goods. I'll have to revert back to the button up short sleeve shirts soon though, my wife and daughters won't let me wear the vest in public, they say I look like a geek..... You outta see their faces when I pull out the fanny pack!
