Looking to put ghost rings on my 590, but the OEM say they need to be silver soldiered on. Any "drop-in" sights yall can recomend that dont have to be "smithed-on".

The only ones Im aware of that dont require smithing for the front are the MMCs. However, if you you go that route, you will have to re drill and tap the receiver. If it were me, Id simply pay the money to have the factory Mossie sigts put on, its not that hard.

If you do this, make sure your smith also drills and taps the bbl for some screws, and drills holes for screws in the front sight base. Much sturdier that way.

I had the Mossie sights installed on my 870. Instead of soldering the front post on, we drilled places for two screws in the front base, and epoxied the base on. Its VERY sturdy. I have also seen smiths drill a single hole in the bottom of the dovetail slot, and coutersink a screw, and epoxy the base on. Either way, Id do the screw and epoxy bit.

I thought Mossberg sold a kit with a barrel that had the front sight on it, and a ghost ring rear that you could screw on to your already tapped receiver.
