I'm considering getting either
1) Super Nova Tactical, which has the new ComforTech stock for reduced recoil, has optional Ghost Ring sights and will soon have an optional collapsable stock.
2) Nova H20 model is more rustproof. See both guns in question here (http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/specialPurpose.tpl)
I haven't shot either one yet. I'm really more into 45 cal pistols, but would like to get a home defense shotgun and practice with it enough to be able to use it. I "tried on" a Nova at a gun shop, and it felt better to me than the Remington's and Mossberg's - so I don't think the additional comb/length adjustments of the ComforTech system will be a factor.
Basically, it seems to boil down to a choice between reduced recoil or being weatherproof (btw - I actually do clean guns after shooting them. But ever since having the iron sights on a stainless Ruger 10/22 rust after being carried in my truck for two months, I've been a bit paranoid). I'll be shooting defense loads rather than duck loads, so the recoil shouldn't be too bad... But the Super does enough extras to be an attractive option...
Has anyone shot the new ComforTech stocks? Do any of you Benelli owners have any advice? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
