Garand clip unseats before rounds are spent

I've got a CMP Garand that I can't get to function properly. When I got it, the clip would come unseated after 1 to 3 rounds. First, I replaced the clip latch spring. That didn't work.

So I bought a new clip latch and a more powerful clip latch spring from Fulton-Armory.

I went to the range tonight, and the problem is still happening.

What should I do know?

i'd take a peek at the op rod catch; especially the depressor arm.
or maybe the follower rod could be bent or have worn forks.
or maybe a worn lug on the bullet guide. IIRC it (the lug) should be between 0.179 & 0.183" high.

I have no idea why the clip unseats after a few rounds, but I love it when my Garand ejects out the empty clips with that musical "ping."

call CMP and let them know what it is doing. I have been shooting and fixing garands for about twenty five years and have seen this problem a few times usually a new op rod spring solves the problem.
