Was reading another thread about pretty vs non-pretty and it got me thinking. One of the topics were about greys and blues would be a good all around color for breaking up the obvious shape of a rifle.
Gives me an excuse to do a little customizing. I like the grey idea.
Since this photo I have added a quad-rail and BUIS. Start small and easy, like stock replacment, quad rail covers, grip etc. Coating is going to be last, if necessary.
Where can I find grey stuff?

Helped a friend of mine do this one. It's the one in my avatar. We just Gun-Kote'd it. Even made the barrel look like a carbon fiber barrel.

Looks good Gorelicks.
I like those SOCOM stocks, think it fits on a AR-10? Looks like you Gunkote'd that as well. Can you Gunkote the plastic parts?
I want to try to keep the rifle parts black, and any accessories will be color. Just in case I want to return it to stock.
So I think a stock replacement, grip replacement, and forend covers should be enough to pull it off. But I'm guessing grips and stock aren't direct replacements between 10s and 15s.

Well, you can duracoat virtually anything, but it's not the "protective coating" that Gun-Kote is. Gun-Kote can only be used on metal parts because you have to heat it up to 300 degrees and let it cook for 60 mintues.
These were done in Duracoat.
