Ok I know it's not a MAK (I already have one) but for $120 I couldnt pass it up. Got a few questions I'm hoping those more informed than myself can help:
1) I seem to remember that there have been problems with the Aluminum frames. Is there any stock in these rumors? Sig and S&W both use aluminum frames and I've not heard of problems with them.
2) There have been some of these pistols with the Black frames instead of the 2-tone look. Is there some way to re-finish it in an "ALL BLACK"?
3) Where can I find magazines for this gun?
4) Any other recommendations from the experts would be appreciated
My thanks to all.

I've had two. No problems except the one I have now doesn't like to feed HP ammo.
Accurate gun but feels like it kicks hard due to the shape of the grip. I think there's a heavier recoil spring available that might help.
makarov.com used to have mags for the gun.
I've seen them with different finishes but I don't know anything about that.
In all I think it's a good gun, especially for the price.:)

1) "I seem to remember that there have been problems with the Aluminum frames. Is there any stock in these rumors?"
Answer: Yes.
The aluminum frame is not as durable as a steel frame. Thus it will have a shorter life. Also, use standard 95 gr FMJ or JHP. DO NOT USE heavier loads as thi will lead to premature frame cracking.
2) "Is there some way to re-finish it in an 'ALL BLACK'?"
Answer: Yes
The frame is an aluminum alloy. Anodize finish would be rather expensive. However, Brownells sells a product called AlumaHyde that works well as a paint for aluminum. Black is one of the standard colors. Keep in mind tht you will have to completely disassemble the pistol in order to paint it.
3) "Where can I find magazines for this gun?"
Answer: Makarov.com, J&G Sales, Ebay, others
about $15.
4) "Any other recommendations from the experts would be appreciated"
a) Use 95 gr FMJ. Heavier ammo contributes to premature frame failure; JHP may not fed properly.
b) Get a heavier recoil spring from Wolff. As I recall, 15# is about right. This will reduce some of the discharge shock.
c) Get a lighter mainspring from Wolff. About 11# is good. Some people experience FTFire with springs lighter thn 11#.
d) Consider a grip enhancement, like Agrip, Hogue Handall or similar from Pachmayr. This will also lessen the shock.
e) Get a decent manual. The one I recommend is
PA-63 PISTOLS ASSEMBLY DISASSEMBLY MANUAL.

Runs about $5-$7, and well worth it.
