Shot my first M16 yesterday

That thing was too much fun. I guy at the 3 gun match had a AR that had been converted legally back in 1982, and he let me shoot it. Man O Man, that was too much fun.

I had shot MP5's before, but this takes the cake. Now if they only weren't 15000 :(

and original m16 runs a little more than that. but yeah i get what you are saying.

I have a friend that bought some registered FA's 10-15years ago when you could afford them. I wish we could enjoy the prices he paid for them.

I have shot a LE M16A1, very old... fun fun fun though.

I carried the M16 as a primary duty weapon as an Air Force SP, and never shoot it full auto. The only full auto I shot was M60s.

Silly isn't it. My ex-wife was high school ROTC and shot the M16 full auto. I've been in almost 13 years and still haven't done it.

I got to fire my first M16A1 back in July 1978. A few months later, I got to put it on full-auto for the first time. A few months after that, It was a night-time shoot (w/ tracers) on an open range with the M60s. Since then, I got to fire another M16A1 on full-auto back in Jan. 2002 during an operational exercise while I was in the Air Force Reserve.

A guy in my local AR club has an M16 that I've shot a couple times. It's super fun but lemme tell ya, it's even more fun with a silencer. :supergrin:

have 16/uzi/macs and hands down the uzi is the best for me

i do know that the 223 stuff rocks though

Part of the USAF M4 qual is shooting on burst (6 rounds) more just to see if you came anywhere near the target on burst. As a CATM guy said, for most people burst is just for scaring the bad guys. I hit what I aimed at. :)


I've shot the M16A1, M16A2, M16A2E3 (full auto A2), M4.

i.e "insurgents" "terrorists" "local badguys" "Very white-looking Somali replacements shooters".

So yes.... we were the targets for a bunch of office commandos and mechanics getting combat training (see in General Nonglocking "MrMurphy plays bad guy" or something along those lines, under a search for pics).
