well i went out to shoot my first AR yesterday and it did good the first mag, then after that the problems came.first the thing wouldnt feed rounds properly into the gun,so i changed mags thinking it would solve the issue, next it would double feed, and stovepipe on me.i believe all my mags are mil spec, marked "okay industries" and mfg 11/03.i believe these things are new but unsure.also the pin that holds the trigger in(unsure of technical name)its right above trigger.anyways it kept working itself loose, and definatly made the gun not go bang a few times.can this thing strip itself out?or can i loctite this?sorry to sound like such a damn newb here, wish i woulda joined the club earlier, but gotta start sometime
What brand of rifle is it? Also, after you load the mags, slap them on your hand to make all of the rounds seat to the back of the mag. I have seen some double feeds and such by the rounds seating in the mag funny.

What ammo are you using. I actually had problems using Norinco .223, but no problems at all with Q3131 or XM193.

In regard to the trigger pin, just get some anti-walk pins. I know that KNS makes some, I am sure that you can find others.
We need more info on gun and ammo. We will get ya up and runnin just give us some more info.

Your Build or Factory???
The trigger pin should be held in place by the tail of the hammer spring. It may be the spring is not properly seated or installed.
Check the gas system by loading one round into the mag. Does the bolt lock back on the empty mag when the round is fired? If not, it is short stroking. Often caused by loose carrier key bolts. Can also be from weak ammo, but I think a GOOD rifle should run on any ammo

Next, check this thread:

to make sure your hammer spring is positioned properly to hold the trigger pin in place.
EDIT: to change "trigger spring" to "trigger pin" in the last line.

rifle is a dpms with 24 bbl.ammo is 62 gr radway arsenal ss109.i believe the bolt was locking back,at least with the first mag or two.it is my build,me and a buddy did.arfcom gave me the insight into doing it.i didnt double check to make sure ammo was seated back all the way,but thinking it may have something to do with lube.thanks DJ for the link.i never did lube anything or clean it before firing.my buddy put a box thru it a few weeks prior to function test and did fine,so i figured i was in the clear, guess i figured wrong.anyways, hope that helps, keep the help coming.

forgot to ask, does everyone think the issue isnt mag related?
