Thanks Tough Guy Levi 05-03-2006, 12:43 Howdy: Old (slide) front sight dovetail or new? When did you purchase your Kahr? Tough Guy Levi rvbgtr 05-03-2006, 13:50 I'm looking for the old style sight. Thanks, AZ Traveler 05-03-2006, 17:39 I have a set of old style I'm not using. They are off of my P40 Covert. PM me an offer. Tough Guy Levi 05-03-2006, 18:13 AZ Traveler: I have OEM sights for my Kahr PM 9 and already made RVBGTR an offer he couldn't refuse!! My sights will be in the mail to him tomorrow. Spent the weekend in a two day NRA Certified Pistol Instructor/Person Protection class (www.ftatv.com). Both very long days (Sat 9-7pm, Sun 9-8pm) most of which was spent in class writing lesson plans and teaching. A portion of Sunday was teaching other CPI candidates how to handle a weapon safely and conduct training sessions on the shooting range. If you haven't done the following, you might give it a try! Instruct you wife/significant other, friend to make a peanut jelly sandwhich. Purchase the ingrediates etc and place them on a table. Took the class of 26 a long time to accomplish this task with our NRA CPI Instructor!! We were told there are only 3 other NRA instructors ranked in his instructor classification. I believe him after being put through the "ringer" both days!! AZ Traveler 05-03-2006, 19:43 Your Welcome rvbgtr. TGL I only offered because no one had "posted" an offer, however I knew you had the sites from when you had your nights sites install by ?PVI?. The instructors class sounds interesting, however the center that you train at is over 3000 miles from me. I'm less then 200 miles from the Atlantic over here. I'm AZ Traveler because I got involved in CAS after I left AZ in 96 and first moved to SC and then to NC. Tough Guy Levi 05-03-2006, 20:16 Howdy AZ Traveler: I should have posted my offer to RVBGTR but it was soooo good he couldn't refuse. I now can "retire" on the funds I'll receive for my sights I don't use since PT-IWI in Vegas installed my Kahr PM 9 sights. Maybe RVBGTR "called" PT-IWI to inquire who on this board had an extra pair of OEM sights available. He's smart!!! HA!!! Know you left AZ for the humid East Coast. I ventured to CA from humid Great Neck, LI after experiencing two weeks of CA "all year round motorcycling weather" in the late 60s! Haven't looked back since the last time I used a shovel was to extract my MGB out of a snow berm after a huge snow storm on LI. I haven't used another shovel since 1970, January 4th. Learned lots this weekend teaching or should I say trying to teach others who are qualified shooters. There were 4 LEOs in the class. Each department wanted them to be NRA Certified even though they taught for their respective departments. One was a helicopter pilot for a local PD and we had fun kidding him about his "aim" from moving elevated equipment. He could hit the side of a barn when he had two feet planted on mother earth and I wouldn't want to be a BG when he was around!! Tough Guy Levi SASS# 61430 BackDraft 05-03-2006, 22:13 The instuctor stuff is alot harder than most think. What the funny part is you always learn something new with each course you teach. I always enjoy going to the NRA courses and help out when I can. I was doing SASS for a little bit but ended up taking a break from it was costing me too much money for taking that day off of the shoots. I enjoyed doing it and might head to a few this year if time permits me. I been doing some PPC and IDPA for something to do. halfmoonclip 05-08-2006, 11:17 Originally posted by rvbgtr Anyone have a factory front sight for PM9? Trying to avoid having to order from Kahr. Thanks rvb, just out of curiousity, why do you need a front sight? My K9 just pitched its front sight to places unknown, for the second time. The dovetail is still there, but the sight itself sheared off. Moon Tough Guy Levi 05-08-2006, 12:47 Howdy Halfmoonclip: I'll answer your question about RVB sight replacement needs since he answered the very same question I asked in an email I sent him requesting his personal mailing address. He purchased a Kahr test weapon. The front sight looked like it had been knocked against something and the rear was OK but not new looking thus the email inquiry regarding replacement sights. I happened to have the pair that were taken off my Kahr PM 9mm when PT-IWI (Las Vegas) replaced them with night sights. Tough Guy Levi rvbgtr 05-10-2006, 20:10 Tough Guy Levi, Thanks again for the sights, they came in yesterday.
