View Full Version : Boy, it sure slowed down here!
Since cheap Bulgy Maks seem to be a thing of the past, and since 9X18 ammo isn't as cheap as it once was, posting has slowed down here.
Are any more Maks going to be imported soon?

I'd settle for some of the Russian ammo at almost any price (short of the fancy stuff, of course.) Can't find any anywhere. Anybody know of someplace that has 1-2K in stock?

There is some good Chinese 9x18 ammo for sale at a good price now on Gunbroker. Hope Glocktalk doesn't mind me posting about a current auction? Also try www.kyimports.com Call them first as they try hard to update their website at least once a year.
There are a few East German Maks still for sale from overseas but they are dwindling fast. Bulgys and Ruskies you have to get second handed, but that is not that difficult.

Thanks for the tip. KYImports was out of ALL Mak ammo as of last Friday. I'll check gunbroker.

Sometimes the Norinco isn't on Gunbroker and is on AuctionArms so look at both. Currently, it will come to your door at around $9/box.
The Wolf 100-grain seems to work better than the old 109-grain did, and it's widely available. Not everybody is a fan of Wolf but it's still cheap:
Sportsmansguide.com - $135/1,000 plus shipping
the-armory.com - $105/1,000 plus shipping
http://www.classicarms.us/ - $120/1,000 plus shipping

Thanks, NB. Both SportsmansGuide and TheArmory are out of stock. SG has been out for several weeks, and their "expected in" date keeps moving back - it's now some time in early July.
Having difficulty getting connected to Classic, but I'll keep trying.

Well pooh, I'll have to check my sources closer before posting such nonsense. This ammo shortage is really getting real. Good thing I have the odd 5 or 10,000 rounds scattered around.

I called Sportsmansguide. Here's what they told me:
CCI, 50-rounds for $9.97, due to arrive May 15th.
Hornady, 25-rounds at $9.47, due to arrive June 5th.
Wolf, 50-rounds at $7.17, due to arrive July 3rd.
I asked him how reliable such far-off delivery dates are and he said when suppliers give delivery dates they're generally pretty accurate.
They do have 15, 480-round boxes of the Sellier & Bellot steel-cased for $59.97, or $3.47 for a 24-round box.

I just ordered a thousand rounds of Wolf from ammoman.com ... It's already on the way. $6.95 a box, delivered.

Hope we see some more of these beauties come 'round again... I love my Bulgarian Mak.

At the last gun show in Indy I bought 7 boxes of Slovakian brass-cased for $6.99/50 rounds. Next show is June 3 and I hope to go back to buy a boatload more.
