I have read the Jack Reacher books written by Lee Child. IMO these are great stories. I think there are currently nine of them with the newest coming out in the next month or so.
Jack Reacher is an ex Army MP Major. He was asked to retire when the army went through a reduction program. One of his last duties was as a soldier in the Gulf war; however, all but one of the stories are written about adventures post army life. He regularly uses his experiences gained through his army career.
Each book is a new story but there is a connection throughout the series. These are action/mysteries. Not too much foul language. Jack Reacher ends up investigating a murder or other serious crime and travels to many places. He is not too quickly angered but one would not want to end up on his bad side. He leads kind of a drifter life, mostly living off of some of him savings. But adventures always seem to find him.
Mr. Lee Child has written some top notch stories in this series. I think one will be quickly "hooked" on the Jack Reacher character. One does not have to start with the first book but can jump in with any of them. I think the website is: www.leechild.com
I highly recommend this series. Great entertainment.
(I am new to this site so if there have been other posts regarding these books, either ignore mine or accept it as another recommendation)
