View Full Version : Advice on Nagants
Ok I've decided I need an accurate scoped nagant. Now I have several problems. Where do I get a good shootable nagant, what mount should I use, and what scope would be best. Or should I just buy one of the repro snipers and work on it myself? How can I be assureed of bore quality either way? Thanks.

AIM Mosin Nagant Sniper Rifle (http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Mosin_Nagant_Post_War_91_30_7.62x54R_Sniper_Rifle.html)
AIM has some original Russian sniper rifles with scope. Not a bad price at all!! $350.
Your other choice is to get a Finnish M/N, but the problem there is that you'll have to tap it for a scope mount (ruining the collectability of it) and you'll have to get a turned down bolt.
If you get the Russian rifle, you get a scope (not a great one compared to modern scopes) that you can swap out. No need to tap the receiver and it comes with a turned down bolt.
If you decide to sell it later on, you can return it to the original condition and it should maintain or increase in value.
